The control system has been designed to control and manage even the most complex street lighting systems in the easiest way possible. To facilitate this it is possible to create multiple levels of lamp clusters and set up subsystems controlled separately. In addition to basic features such as on/off powering and light intensity control for specific lamps the system enables an operator real-time electricity usage monitoring at all levels i.e. starting from single lamps, to lamp clusters, to entire streets to boroughs, ending with entire lighting installation operating within a system as well as lamps control at the level of these groups and subgroups.
Efficient system control is provided thanks to clear interface and absence of data inundation – an operator is not overwhelmed with useless data but can easily access it if necessary.
LonWorks is a worldwide automation and control standard for distributed systems developed by an American company Echelon. For communication it utilizes the standard LonTalk protocol which allows LonWorks devices from various manufacturers to communicate smoothly.
